Faith has been a tool to control and oppress.  It has also been a source of healing and hope for survivors of domestic violence.  This workshop is designed to look critically at the role of faith in the lives of survivors and help advocates learn how to engage churches.  

Workshop Objectives:

• Participants will become aware of the variety of beliefs that exist at the intersection of domestic violence and faith.  
• Participants will be able to recognize faith practices that oppress victims of domestic violence and faith practices that support and strengthen survivors. 
• Participants will be able to begin the process of engaging institutions of faith in their work with survivors of domestic violence.
